In A Spin

Hello all,

I hope you all had a lovely bank holiday.  Here in France bank holiday was Thursday and Friday so we had a long weekend with the kids and its was Mothers Day here too.  So I was treated to breakfast in bed which I didn't get to eat as my little boy decided he wanted my toast.

Its a Spellblogger post from me today.

Here is this weeks creation.

I have been wanting to make one for these spinning cards for ages.

For this card I used the Die-D-Lites Flight 2 Etched Die to create the balloon.

I add a few extra clouds to stop the balloon spinning all the way around as I found that it spun around the card very fast. I think if I was in the hot air balloon I would feel a little ill.

To create the centre track I used the Nestabilities Celebrations Pierced Circles Etched Die.

I then created a cloudy background for inside the track using one of the clouds from the flight 2 set and just inked around it.

I also used Shapeabilities Simply Said Phrase 2 Etched Dies for the sentiment and finished with a few sequins.

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to stop by next week for another Spellbloggers Project using beautiful Spellbinders Dies.

Happy Mothers Day

Hello All,

Happy Mothers Day or Fete des Meres to all in France celebrating Mothers Day.

I just wanted to share this lovely little project that I made a few weeks ago for the Fiskarettes UK Design Team Facebook Page.

This would make a lovely little gift to give to that special person on mothers day.

I made this little flower pot using the house part of the home sweet home set from Stampin Up.  All I did was cut off the roof part.

I added some tissue paper to the inside and covered it in a scrap piece of material I had floating around in my craft drawers.

I then used the In Bloom squeeze punch to the make the flowers.  I cut out several petals and shaped the petals slightly.  I then added a brad to the centre of each.

I then used a wooden stick to added the just for you sentiment and finished with a little butterfly using the Fiskars squeeze punch.

Have lovely Day and don't forget to stop by the Fiskarettes UK Facebook page for more lovely inspiration.

In A Teacup

I hope you all had a lovely week.
Its Friday so its time for your weekly Daring Cardmakers challenge.

This weeks challenge is hosted my Leo and is called

IN A TEACUP

Leo would like to see a teacup on your card with something in it.  It doesn't have to be a drink so feel free to think outside the box.

For my card I went with flowers in my teacup.  Well 3 teacups with little hand punched daisies in them.  I could spend hours making these little flowers and they look so pretty.  I used two different size daisy punches from Fiskars.

The teacups are from a stamp set from Papersweeties called Coffee, Yes Please.

I stamped the teacups on to 3 different designer papers and added the flowers to,the cups and finished with a sentiment from The Lovely Studio (Pink Petticoat)

Have a lovely weekend and enjoy the sunshine.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sunny Straws

Hello Crafters.

For this weeks Spellblogger post I wanted to do something a little different and not a card.

I had recently bought some paper straws and I thought I might use them for crafting at some stage but then a little idea popped into my head.  Why not make the straws fun for the kids to use.

This is what I came up with.

I used the Die D-Lites Flight 2 Set and cut out the hot air ballon from glitter card stock and the bunting from yellow card stock.

I then attached them to the straws and that's it, a fun and cute way to dress up drinking straws.

I thought they would look great at a party or even at a baby shower if done in pink or blue.

You could even just use them to dress up a pot plant.

I love a craft product that had other uses not just on a card.

The Set comes with everything you see above.

Thanks for stopping by today for another Spellblogger post using the fabulous dies from Spellbinders.

Twos Company

Hello Friday and hello crafters.

As its Friday it means its challenge time over at Daring Cardmakers.

Our lovely host this week is Sharon and the challenge this week is to only use two colours on your card and one of the colours has to be your base card and sentiment.

What a tough challenge.  This one really got me thinking especially as I only use white or kraft as a base card and I generally use black for my sentiments.

So that was my only colour choices.

I went with BLACK and KRAFT.

I used the embossing folder called Picnic by Tammy Tutterow from Spellbinders and this time I inked up my embossing folder in black before I ran it through my Platinum Machine.  I have never tried this before as I thought I would ruin my folder but it worked great.

Next I used the Simply Said Phrase 2 Die from Spellbinders for my sentiment.  Which I cut from plain black card stock, glitter and mirror card.

I then mounted this onto mirror card to create a little border.

A lovely simple card which I think looks quite masculine.

I hope you can stop by the Design Team Blogs for more lovely inspiration.

Have a great weekend.

Hooray

Hello All,

Its time for another Spellbloggers post this time using the fun Die D-lites Chilled Etched die from Spellbinders.

As we are all dreaming about the summer holidays now I thought a card featuring some ice cool treats would be fantastic.

This cute set comes with the ice lolly and the ice cream sundae, a tiny cherry and a spoon.

I wanted to make the card appeal to everyone so I avoided using pink but still had to use glitter for the ice lollies.

I cut out the ice lollies twice once from kraft card then glitter card and just cut the sticks off.

I then used an embossing folder called Picnic by Tammy Tutterow and embossed this using plain white card stock.

The sentiment is from a set called Simple Said Phrase Set Two which I have cut from black card stock.

I then added a few sequins to finish.

A fairly quick and easy card from me today and I hope you can stop by next week for more Spellblogger Inspiration from Spellbinders.

Thanks for stopping by.

All that Glitters

Hello Crafters.

So for this weeks dare at Daring Cardmakers I thought I would combine the challenge and use some of my beautiful dies from Spellbinders and make this a Spellblogger post.

This weeks challenge is called.

All That Glitters is Not Gold

Our lovely host Shabneez would like to see glitter on your card but not the colour gold.

So I used some lovely bright pink glitter card, with a bit of white and silver.

The castle is cut from pink glitter card using a die called Sandcastle Inn from Spellbinders.  I thought it would also make a great fairy castle.

I wanted to make my castle look like it was floating in the clouds so I used the cloud from a set called Die-D Lites Flight 2 also from Spellbinders.  To create the background I inked around a die cut cloud to make it look like a sky.

I then used the rainbow die from a set called Die D-Lites Unicorn Fantasy.  I coloured this using promarkers and added a few more clouds to the sides of the rainbow.

The celebrate greeting is from the set called Simply Said Phrase Set Two which I cute from white and glitter card and mounted it slightly off centre to give it a border.

To finish I added a few of the tiny stars from the Lets Party Shinning Star Die Set.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.

Christmas Shining Star

Hello Crafters.

Dare I say this but I have a Christmas card to share with you using a beautiful die set from Spellbinders.

I mentioned in a previous post how nice this would be as a Christmas card and then one of my lovely followers asked me to show one.

So here it is.

I used the D-Lites Lets Party Shining Star die set.  Which comes with a banner and lots of stars to decorate.

I cut the banner from gold mirror card and the stars in various card types of card stock.

I then used the Embossing folder called Picnic by Tammy Tutterow as it looks like a brick wall so I thought the Christmas banner could look as though it was hung over the fire place.

I then used the Celebra'tions Pierced Circles for the printed sentiment and added a few of the tiny stars from the Lets party Shining Star set to embellish it.

I love making a start on those Christmas cards as I hate to be in rush at the end of the year.  I hope this has inspired you to perhaps make a start.

I hope you can join me next week for more Spellblogger Inspiration.

May Elemental

Hello All,

I am little late with this weeks post for Daring Cardmakers as both my children have been ill over these last few days.  So lots of cuddles were needed and not much sleep had by us all.

Its the beginning of the month which means its elemental inspiration time over at Daring Cardmakers.

Just look at the beautiful picture.  Isn't it just stunning?

Remember you need to pick at least three elements from the image to create your card.

So much to choose from but I went with the colours, butterflies, gems, glass jar and I used some silver thread to match the necklace chain.

I used the butterfly squeeze punch from Fiskars and cut them from glittered card.

I then used the Jar of love stamp set from Stampin up to stamp the jar and the foliage.  I then added a few flowers punched from white card using the daisy lever punch from Fiskars and added a little sequin to the centre.

I finished my card by adding a little bit of silver thread to the top of the jar.

I hope you can stop by the Design Team blogs to see what they created using this months elemental inspiration picture.

Thanks for stopping by.

Toot Toot

Hello Crafters,

It's time to share some more weekly inspiration from Spellbinders.

This week I am sharing a card made with the D-Lites Little Guy Die which is super cute.

It's comes in a set of three vehicle with little clouds.  It's a great set for all ages but I couldn't resist making a card for my 2 year old.

I cut out the train in green mirror card and the car in red glitter card and added the clouds as smoke coming from the exhaust and funnel.

For the background and I used the embossing folder called Picnic by Tammy Tutterow and used core'dinations card stock and rubbed away the embossed areas using fine sandpaper.

I then mounted the vehicles using the Celebrations Pierced Circles set.

Finally I added the sentiment using the Shapeabilites Phrase Set Two.  I cut this from white and black glittered cardstock and placed them slightly off line to create the shadow.

Have a great day and pop by next week for more Spellbinders Inspiration.

It may be starting to look like Christmas next week.

Handmade Box Frame

Happy Bank Holiday.
Hope you are all having a lovely day.  Its a bit windy and wet here today so a perfect day to do a bit of blogging.
I am sharing today a little gift I made for the Fiskarettes Design Team.  I wanted to do something other than a card and I found this great tutorial on Pinterest showing you how to make your own frames.

I made this one from brown card stock of quite a heavy weight to make it more sturdy.
I used some beautiful papers from Prima and the matching stamp set for the clock face which is called Printery.

I then used the Butterfly and In Bloom squeeze punches from Fiskars
To make the flower I punched out several flowers and shaped the petals using a cocktail stick and I inked up the edges.  I also added a few seed beads to the centre.

I hope you can stop by the Fiskarettes UK Facebook page for more lovely inspiration from the Design Team.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
